David S. Owen started programming on a TRS-80 in 1986. He became proficient in many languages, including C, C++, x86 assembly, Java, Python, and Common Lisp. In 2004, after only 3.5 years, he earned a dual-major Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science & Mathematics from Westminster College, Utah, graduating cum laude. He was later admitted for a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Utah, with a prestigious Wayne Brown fellowship.
He has developed software for several small businesses, and has a track-record of entering at-risk projects and bringing them to successful completion. He currently works for Canonical.
In his free time, he enjoys his family, the great outdoors, studying political history, singing, and playing the piano and organ.
